Program

The Day | Check in Abruzzo and welcome lunch, visit the city of Vasto

Arrival in Vasto ( ancient Roman city on the Adriatic Coast, birthplace of Gabriele Rossetti famous Italian poet and literary critic), hotel accommodation ***, welcome lunch in a traditional restaurant in the Castle Caldoresco.

In the afternoon hours 17:00 about city tour.

II Day |Visit the market, cook pasta with mom, explore Punta Aderci

After a nice traditional breakfast of freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, jams, sweets Abruzzo, coffee, tea and freshly squeezed juice we will go in the Santa Chiara colorful market to buy seasonal products, then we will have a cooking class with a housewife in her home, we will learn how easy it is to make fresh pasta and prepare it in its seasonal sauces, we will also learn to do the Tarallucci (Abruzzo biscuits).

Lunch will consist of delicious dishes that have been prepared in the morning.

In the afternoon we will have a light and picturesque walk into the "Natural Reserve of Punta Aderci", one of 10 most beautiful beaches in Italy according to the British newspaper "The Telegraph", where we will discover the symbol of our area the "Overflow".

Day III | Trabocchi coast, Wine tasting

After breakfast we start to discover the "Costa Dei Trabocchi". IV Day |Learn how to make cheese, Roccascalegna Castle

After breakfast we will visit a farm where the owners we will reveal the secrets of breeding cows and sheep, Who wants to can try to milk a cow or a sheep. After a snack with typical cheeses will learn how to prepare the ricotta cheese in them, Also we will learn to make a special bread called "Pizza Scima – stupid pizza ", a delicious lunch will be prepared and served to delight our palates.

In the afternoon we drive in Roccascalegna, where we will visit the charming medieval castle and where we will explain the ancient tradition of "droit de Nocti" (right of the first night).

Fifth Day |Olive Oil Tasting, learn the art of fillings

After breakfast we will visit the olive grove "The Selvotta" that is grown with dedication and love for three generations, the commitment of the owners gives us today a DOP oil of the finest of the Abruzzo region. We will explain the secrets of what Homer described it as "liquid gold of Abruzzo", we will finish our visit with a tasting of olive oil. Then we're going to pay a visit to Francesca, where we will do a cooking class to learn "The art of stuffed" and prepare our lunch. Along with Francesca we learn to do "Pallotte cheese and eggs", "Ravioli with ricotta and spinach", "peppers, Eggplant, Zucchini and mushrooms stuffed ", we will also learn to make "The Pizzelle" (sweet typical Abruzzo).
